Formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1989, Mercury Revquickly grew to become leading figures in left fieldalternative rock. Earlier albums veered towardsexperimental, off-kilter psychedelia but by the end ofthe decade, the band had developed their own brand ofserene, piano-based Americana with the acclaimed, bestsellingLP ‘Deserter’s Songs’ (1998).
‘All Is Dream’ was originally released on V2 in 2001 inAugust (Europe) and September (North America) andboasted a more expansive, cinematic production than itspredecessor (again courtesy of ex-member DaveFridmann, by this time arguably the most in-demandproducer in alternative US Rock). The record was warmlyreceived by critics and fans alike, enjoying higher chartpositions than its predecessor (#11 UK, #17 US, Top 40 inAustralia and in various European countries).
